The Isospin Influence on Squeeze-out Phenomena in Heavy Ion Collisions
Equilibration of the isospin degree of freedom, the isospin dependence of the sidewards flow, balance energy, preequilibrium nucleon emission and subthreshold pion production are phenomena proven to be sensitive to the isospin-dependent nuclear equation of state and in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross section [1]. In this contribution we will report on preliminary experimental evidence on the influ...
متن کاملIsospin Equilibration in Relativistic Heavy-ion Collisions * †
We study the kinetic and chemical equilibration of projectile and target nucleons in relativistic heavy-ion collisions in the energy regime between 150 AMeV and 2 AGeV in a coupled-channel BUU (CBUU) approach. We find that equilibrium in the projectile-target degrees of freedom is in general not reached even for large systems at low energy where elastic nucleon-nucleon collisions dominate. Inel...
متن کاملKaon squeeze-out in heavy ion reactions
The squeeze-out phenomenon of K and K− mesons, i.e. the azimuthal asymmetry of K and K− mesons emitted at midrapidity in heavy ion reactions, is investigated for beam energies of 1-2 A.GeV. It is found that the squeeze-out signal is strongly affected by in-medium potentials of these mesons. The repulsive K-nucleus potential gives rise to a pronounced out-of-plane emission of K’s at midrapidity....
متن کاملSpin - Isospin Modes in Heavy - Ion Collisions
With a view towards implementation in microscopic transport simulations of heavy-ion collisions, the properties of spin-isospin modes are studied in nuclear matter consisting of nucleons and ∆ isobars that interact by the exchange of π and ρ mesons. For a standard p-wave interaction and an effective g ′ short-range interaction, the dispersion relations for the spin-isospin modes, and the associ...

can be measured by combining the single-particle momentum spectrum with the ‘‘homogeneity volume’’ extracted from Bose-Einstein correlation measurements @1#. Bertsch’s original formula @1# was refined in @2# to exclude contributions from long-lived resonances decaying far outside the collision fireball, and a relativistically covariant derivation was given in @3,4#. With these improvements Bert...
